A School District Election will be held on June18, 2024. Electors of the school district will be entitled to vote for one of the candidates listed below for the one 3-year term vacancy existing. Candidates for a 3-year term for school board member are: Josh Hawkinson and Marlin Heitmann. Voting will be held in the library of the school, voters can enter at the main entrance door 15. Voting takes place from 7:00AM to 7:00PM.

A reminder of our summer reading challenge! Incoming 2024-25 Kind.-2nd graders are challenged to write down 100 books. A log was sent home but feel free to use a log of your choice, as long as you write down the title of the book. Have your child write down the title to polish those writing skills. Incoming 2024-25 3rd-5th graders are challenged to earn 25 AR points. If you can't remember your log-in, please email Mrs. Richter. AR reading should be available to 1st grade through 5th grade students throughout the summer to earn some AR points!
Absentee and early voting begins June 3rd. Registered voters can vote in-person at the office of the business manager by bringing along a valid photo identification card (ID). Business hours are 8:00-4:00 M-Th. The deadline to absentee vote is June 17th by the end of the business day. If you need to absentee vote by mail, contact Tami Koppang or Danelle Elsen at 605-448-2234 or tami.koppang@k12.sd.us or danelle.elsen@k12.sd.us to make those arrangements.
Voter registration for the Britton-Hecla School Board Election to be held on June 18, 2024, will close on June 3, 2024. A personal trainer from Avera Human Performance Center will be here on Tuesday, May 21st at 8:30 am. He will talk with all kids (incoming grades 7-12) and coaches about the importance of strength training. Anyone who is regularly attending weight room or interested in it, meet in the Amacher immediately following the final bell. This will be the first in a series of visits. Some of the topics will be enhancing athletic performance, proper lifting form, the importance of strength training, supplements and nutrition.
